Therapy and an artistic outlet
What started as a therapeutic necessity, has grown to become a passionate and necessary creative outlet. Using my maiden name of "Lea", I am returning to my true creative roots, inspired by my gently artistic paternal grandfather, and my engineer/artist father. And now that I have some experience in the basics, am venturing out to find my own direction in pottery - starting with my very weedy Hamilton yard, and all the fantastic textures and shapes that it inspires!
I'm glad you're here to be a part of my story - Sharon Foster.

Sharon Foster
This is where my clay journey begins. After receiving a Long Covid diagnosis, I turned to pottery as therapy to help with joint pain and muscle weakness. It has evolved now to be a journey of regaining some creative control, purpose, and the opportunity to enjoy the gentle learning process along the way.

I am a potter
This process has enabled me to take back some control, heal and redefine who I am. For many years I have been a mum, wife, designer, student, nurse, educator... and now I happily call myself a potter.
